New Technical Editor Geomares Publishing (01-03-2011)

Geomares Publishing is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Pronk as the new Technical Editor for GIM International and Hydro International. Prior to taking up his new role, Mark Pronk was Technical Account Manager for the EMEA region at CARIS. With a degree in Hydrographic Surveying, he is now directing the technical side of editorial content for both print and online products of GIM International and Hydro International.

Release website on Marine Spills and Pollution (01-10-2010)

Geomares Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Spill International, the international website and newsletter on the prevention, preparedness for, response to and restoration of marine spills and pollution, www.spill-international.com. Spill International provides international experts with information on recent events, developments in the industry and significant research projects. It provides a forum for discussion regarding innovations and best practices across the spectrum.

Geomares Publishing One year Operational (01-10-2010)
Geomares Publishing celebrates its one year existence! The first operational year of the company has been very promising; after hiring a new editorial manager, the company has extended its team with an Online Marketeer. Further it has introduced two new products, first Electronic Chart (www.electronic-chart.com) a website to support ship owners, operators and mariners in the transition from paper charts to ECDIS navigation, and later that year Spill International (www.spill-international.com) an international website and newsletter on the prevention, preparedness for, response to and restoration of marine spills and pollution!

Online Marketeer Onboard (03-08-2010)
Geomares Publishing has extended its marketing team with Ewald van der Hoop. As online marketer he is responsible for the growth and success of our online products, such as increasing traffic to our various websites, and the number of subscribers to all our newsletters. He is also responsible for developing, implementing and managing online campaigns and the generation and analysis of online statistics, and contributing to new online business models.

Release Electronic-chart.com (11-03-2010)
Geomares Publishing is proud to announce the release of www.electronic.chart.com. The website is aimed to support ship owners, operators and mariners in the transition from paper charts to ECDIS navigation. The content of news updates on developments around ECDIS will be soon extended with photo and video material and interactive tools. Further the website makes available the book The Electronic Chart, which gives overview on marine electronic charts; all issues from system hardware and software, chart data types and structures, training requirements, safety, legal and economic considerations are covered.

New Editorial Manager Magazines (23-02-2010)
Wim van Wegen, holding a bachelors degree in European Studies, has joined Geomares Publishing as editorial manager of both GIM International and Hydro International. Internationally orientated as a person, Wim lived abroad on internships in Turkey and Austria during his years as an undergraduate, also spending a term in the Czech Republic as an exchange student.  

Reed Business Geo Takeover by Geomares (01-10-2009)
1^st October 2009, Durk Haarsma, publishing director, and Meine van der Bijl, financial director, have taken over the publishing group Reed Business Geo and launched the new publishing house Geomares Publishing. There were few changes apart from name, as the new company continues to produce existing products with the existing team, working from their offices in Lemmer, the Netherlands.
