Durk
Haarsma (right) is publishing director of Geomares
Publishing. He was publisher at Reed Business Geo for
almost five years before Geomares Publishing came
into existence through a management buy-out on 1st
October 2009, Prior to this he worked for
almost ten years as an editor and journalist for
various management magazines, as well as radio
reporter on a daily news programme.

Meine van der Bijl is financial director at
Geomares Publishing. Prior to the management buy-out
he was employed since 1999 as financial controller
with responsibility for a.o. GIM International
and Hydro International at Reed Business Geo.
Before joining Reed Business Geo he worked in the
accounting control departments of several companies.

Victor van Essen
(left),
sales manager for Geomares Publishing, is the contact
person for companies interested in advertising in GIM
International and WaterLink International (the magazines, websites and newsletters).
For more than seven years he has traveled on behalf
of the company, visiting conferences, exhibitions and
companies worldwide. At the office he busies himself
handling questions and searching for companies newly
entering the international geomatics and hydrographic market. Besides
his work for GIM International and WaterLink International, he is also develops
new additions to the Geomares adsales packages,
establishes partnerships and is a sparring partner
for the sales, marketing and editorial departments
within the organisation.

Mark Pronk (left) has joined Geomares Publishing as
Technical Editor for GIM International and Hydro
International. With a degree in Hydrographic
Surveying, he is now directing the technical side of
editorial content for both print and online products
of GIM International and Hydro International.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark Pronk says,
“"I am delighted to be able to contribute
to the excellent magazines GIM International
and Hydro International, bringing the latest
news, features and background stories."

Wim
van Wegen, holding a bachelors degree in European
Studies, joined Geomares Publishing in 2010 as
editorial manager of both GIM International and Hydro
International. Internationally orientated as a
person, Wim lived abroad on internships in Turkey and
Austria during his years as an undergraduate, also
spending a term in the Czech Republic as an exchange
student. He likes to travel and regards it as
interesting and important to keep in touch with
people all around the world.

Joost
Boers (left) started working for Hydro International in the position of
editorial manager. In view of his previous experience and interest in
online developments, he pioneered a new position as content manager in
2008. He is responsible for the online success of the GIM
International, Hydro International, WaterLink International and
Spill International websites and newsletters and the further
development of Geomares Publishing's online activities will also be in
his hands. He also co-ordinates production of our valued product
overviews.

Trea
Fledderus has been working for company since
1997, first as editorial assistant of GIM
International, later also responsible for the first
years of the magazine's BPA certification. Over the
years she has became marketing assistant, responsible
for all co-operation in conferences and exhibitions,
and a range of other marketing activities including
promoting the book The Electronic Chart.

Ewald
van der Hoop (left) is, as online marketer,
responsible for the growth and success of our online
products, such as increasing traffic to our various
websites, and the number of subscribers to all our
newsletters. He is also responsible for developing,
implementing and managing online campaigns and the
generation and analysis of online statistics, and
contributing to new online business models.

Petra
Hoekstra, management assistant, joined our company in 2006 as circulation
manager, and is responsible for subscription
administration and ensuring the magazine reaches
subscribers at the right address. She thus provides the
magazines GIM International and Hydro International
with its BPA Worldwide qualification, an important
assurance for companies advertising with us. She makes sure the office management operates smoothly. At
exhibitions as well as in the office she is also a
great hostess, and we love her homemade cakes!
